Since our formation in April 2002, PIRG has been funded exclusively by its founder, Trevor Hosten , to the tune of over $350,000.00 , in its first two years, of which 97.5% was spent on print advertisements which, although increasing in cost, remains the most forceful and successful method of reaching both consumers and financial service providers.

We have been privileged to receive $10,000 via two unsolicited $5000.00 donations from a well known International Construction firm which we are using to establish our website www.pirgtrinidad.org and resume our public education advertisements.

Consumer protection is a never ending abyss as the rich and powerful are never tired of exerting they might, greed and insensitivity on the helpless poor. While we are extremely proud of what we have accomplished in a relatively short period, we still have a long way to go including accepting an invitation to expand into the Caribbean in the not too distant future where our advocacy is much needed in a region notoriously lacking in consumer rights and protection.

With your kind support financially, we can change the way our children and grandchildren would be treated as consumers as we force financial service providers to examine their trade practices, and force Governments to enact necessary laws to protect our consumers against powerful vultures who take from the pivotal masses even on whom they depend for their very existence to fatten the few, giving mere pittance, if any back to community development.
